This book has been prepared keeping in view the abstractness of this science ""Process control"" and for better understanding of this subject for practising engineers, teachers and students of Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics disciplines. The major topics of process control have been explained with greater lucidity by taking appropriate illustrative examples and more number of 5/5(1). The first application targeted for study was basis weight measurement. Basis weight gauges are found in every paper mill and are an integral part of the process control instrumentation. Current typical basis weight measurement systems use radioactive sources that produce beta radiation. This application was selected based on the following criteria. was a surfactant control. Pulp produced in each of the three trials was used in a pilot paper machine run. During each paper machine run, overall runnability, drainage, pressing response, and wet-web strength were evaluated. In general, the enzyme-reacted pulp ran better than the control pulp. Mainly, it was the enhanced drainage and wet-web.
